PODCASTING The Strangest Story Ever- A Traumatic Proposal

Hello to all of you again!
Today, I will be talking about my Educational Technologies course Podcasting task! It was my first podcasting experience like blogging. The task was writing a story involving at least 5 of the selected words by the instructor and by adding some sound effects like walking, coughing, etc. making this story a podcast. It sounded fun to me so I chose this one out of the four options. Creating a post on podcasting was also a part of the task so here I am, creating a post on PODCASTING!
First, I created many stories involving the selected words but most of them weren't good enough to create a podcast. I struggled a lot at this phase but in the end, I came up with a story idea summarizing all stories I created before. I wrote it down and practiced it to be able to vocalize it fluently. Then I searched for some sound effects to add to my podcast. I retrieved all my additional sound effects from www.freesound.org if you want to check. Then, I tried to vocalize it fluently and add the sound effects immediately after I read the related word. It was really hard for me but I think I managed it well. Then, I edited my podcast, and voilà.
I liked this task and I would assign this task to my students because it can be used as a tool in many ways. For example, I thought that it would be great to create a peer task involving making a podcast about giving and asking directions within the words post office, library, hospital, supermarket, and school. It may be hard to add the sound effects but other than that it is an effective tool to practice some phrases and become more fluent.
Here is my podcast; The Strangest Story Ever- A Traumatic Proposal. I hope you enjoy it. Feel free to contact me if you have any ideas, questions, and comments.

Creating A Grammar Teaching Video-A Group Project

Hi everyone!     Today, I will be sharing our grammar teaching video and grammar worksheet. I already shared my thoughts on flipped class with you, please visit my previous post if you want to check it out. However, I want to discuss it specific to grammar teaching. Grammar teaching is a time-consuming activity in the classroom. Students are generally silently sit and listen to the teacher, which is not exactly what we need in the classroom. We need learners to be active. Flipped grammar teaching paves the way for the learners to be more active and self-confident. It reduces the time spent on lecturing. I find flipped classroom beneficial specifically when teaching grammar and I'd love to use it with my students.     As for the video and worksheet, first we examined the workbook and decided on the grammar subject we want to work on. Then, we created a lesson plan and text to voice-over. After Yaren and I voice-overed the text, we discussed which tool to us...

Creating a Tehnology-Enhanced Project

Hello everyone,     Today, I will share our technology-enhanced project with you. The task was to redesign a project to make it technology-integrated. It was a group task, my teammates were Yaren and Oğuz. We chose our project from MEB's Preparatory Class Student's Book. Here are the original project steps: Prepare your own poster about how to protect our nature and write your slogan on it as in the examples below.      Then, present your poster to your friends.      In the original project, there are not enough steps to explain the porject and it is not integrating any use of technology. Also, the project is not giving a chance for the students to facilitate self-learning or practice their language skills.      The original project involves creating a poster which is composed of a slogan and a visual. We changed it with creating an infographic which involves visuals and data. Creating an infographic requires students to d...

A Digital Poster- Lord of the Flies Movie Poster

Hello to all of you!     Today, I will be talking about creating a digital poster task. The task includes 2 options. You can create a movie poster imagining that the book you're reading is being made into a movie, or you can create a magazine cover.       I chose the movie poster option because I wanted to cast the stars as I imagined the book characters to be. Also, I thought it would be better to stick with Lord of the Flies book as I reviewed it before. You can see my book review here.       I used Poster My Wall website to create my poster. It was easy to use. However, to me,  it doesn't support creativity, unfortunately. I think this tool can be very useful to fulfill tasks like creating invitation cards( birthday party, wedding, conference, etc.), thank you cards, special day cards (Mother's Day, Christmas, etc.), or flyers. When I was a 4th or 5th-grade student, my teachers used to give me creating a birthday party invitation...
