Hello to all of you again!
Today, I’d like to talk about 21st-century learning. As we all know, education has changed dramatically with the invention of technology and the developments in this field. We have smart boards, computers, smartphones, tablets, projectors in the class thanks to the technology. With these gadgets, the methods of teaching a language have changed greatly. The way we use them also has changed over the years. We used to use them as the goal rather than a tool. Now, we use them as tools that help us to achieve our goals.
The 21st-century requires learners to be
self-motivated, collaborative, adaptive, initiative, social, and creative
individuals. So, teachers must be aware of this change and educate the learners
accordingly even if they weren’t educated to have these skills and don’t have
them. Teachers should raise awareness of globalization, health issues,
entrepreneurship, environmental issues, and history in accordance with the aim
of the course, learning English as a second language, for example. Therefore,
they can be versatile in English as well as their native language.
Moreover, technological gadgets help teachers achieve their goals easily.
Here is my 21st-century learning word cloud. You can see the adjectives and phrases related to 21st-century learning.
I’d appreciate it if you share your thoughts. Thank you all
